I only will be using this for towing a trailer not a caravan ?? Dont know if this helps like
Towing electrics?
12N was the old standard for towing electrics, 7 connectors usually black plug / socket
12S was the old standard for supplementary electrics, 7 connectors usually grey or white plug / socket, i.e. caravan fridge and reversing lights
13 pin is the European standard as of September 2008.
You can get converters to go either way if necessary.
I havent got a trailer yet didnt think there was a difference between them all thought they were all standard
If your just going to tow a small trailer without electrical items like fridge interior lights ( as you would have in a caravan ) I would just go for the 7 pin set up, but buy the Vauxhall electrical kit, its about £50 and a ten minute job. Probably the easiest tow bar and electrics I've ever fitted
They are just from 2008 caravans moved to 13 pin, trailers could be either.
Looks like i will just have to find someone with a trailer and ask them how many pins there plug has
cheers lads
