    Towing electrics?

12N was the old standard for towing electrics, 7 connectors usually black plug / socket
12S was the old standard for supplementary electrics, 7 connectors usually grey or white plug / socket, i.e. caravan fridge and reversing lights

13 pin is the European standard as of September 2008.

You can get converters to go either way if necessary.

If your just going to tow a small trailer without electrical items like fridge interior lights ( as you would have in a caravan ) I would just go for the 7 pin set up, but buy the Vauxhall electrical kit, its about £50 and a ten minute job. Probably the easiest tow bar and electrics I've ever fitted
