IMHO given their lie about the EML and cruise I would be taking your smart car back and going else where

Hi Rod...what a intro to Vectra C's ..You have my sympathy......My advice is take it back & get your money back...the carpet willprobably take an age to dry out & then the fusty smell may linger a long time....& then there is the sorting out of the rest of the problems......The blocked drain hole under the scuttle panel is well known as advised ...Look round for another Vectra now you are aware of the blocked drain hole under the scuttle panel....PS Ours is a 55 reg Facelift Z 1.8 XE Club Spec we've had from it being 8 months old with less than 4K miles & never had this problem but have been made aware of it on here & suffering a similar problem with the 95'Reg Cavalier we had prior to this car.... good hunting.there are some decent one's out there....

PPS - look under the cars...broken springs front & rear are another common problem....ours failed after about 56K miles....& just under 7 years old....

    This is so true...

All my standard spring failed almost at one time! Hence why I have Eibachs now... The wifes vectra is about to undergo this change this weekend...

your thermostat should read 86-89 and stay there so you need a new thermostat common fault on 1.8

you need to find why the eml light is on ask them why

    there is a stored code

cruise control could be stalk end contacts

the thread i have put above you need to read if you do not clear the drain by the pollen filter it will leak into your passenger side again and can break your heater blower
which then you need to replace the heater resister then which costs 30 pounds at the dealers

Check they replaced them in pairs... Not 100% nessesary but highly recomended to have done this way.

Given the issues you have hjad with this car already I would be very reluctant to take it back IMO!

+1 unless you got it for a bargain price (under 1K) I would be looking else where.
