    Default hello

First post just to say hi and thanks for all the great how to's
Planning quite a few of the mods listed so may be back for advice? Been doing a lot of reading on here and although sometimes a little confusing im getting there :-)
As a first question: Has anyone on here north of perth got a tech2 they dont mind using on other folks cars?
Ive had a look on ebay and theyre well over what im prepared to spend on a dedicated tool. Ive had a look at vauxcom but read on here it cant do everything the tech2 can although its apperently close?

    Regards
    Jim

Would it be worth buying a vauxcom? 600 + vat seems better than just short of 2000 for a tech2

Welcome aboard matey . Vauxcom ? Well I suppose it all depends on what exactly you are planning to do to your car or other Vauxhalls.

£600 + VAT seems like a lot of money to spend on a tool when there is probably an under-used one with a willing owner happy to help you somewhere close by.

    Thanks for the welcomes.
Im hoping someone relatively close has one and would be willing to help.

The vectra is wifeys car and although i find it good to drive and enjoy running it ( when she lets me :-) ) i find it lacking in accessories. It didnt even have cupholders when she got it. With all the planned mods itll take a bit of time with the tech2/vauxcom and hopefully the car wil be what its supposed to when im finished.
Dont suppose anyone knows of something else thats cheaper than a vauxcom with the same capabilities?

    Regards
    Jim

    Thought HID kits failed MOTs?
Retrofitting a full factory setup seems a bit of a pain too, although to be fair i havent checked into it.

i have hid setup and didnt have an mot problem and i know alot of other people have passed with no problems, i think it comes down to aslong as they arent something like a 10k real blue kit and they are lined up correctly then you will be fine
