    rolleyes Upgrading question.

    hi everyone,
as the title says, i am thinking of up grading to the new Insignia.
i currently have the 1.8vvti sri vectra.
    my question is,
which insignia engine and drivetrain do you's think would be the best and most reliable as its my understanding that the engines and drivetrain are the same as the vectra C.

    1.8vvti 16v sri ????????????????
    or
    2.0 cdti 16v sri (160ps) ??????????????????
    or
    2.0 cdti 16v sri (130ps) ????????????????

    Vehicle : Vauxhall

    Trim : Astra gtc vxr

    Engine : 2.0 turbo

Personally I'd go for the 160 bhp model mate as the insignia is a big heavy car for a 1.8 to haul around

i was thinking that also, and as i use it as a taxi i could be doing with the extra bit of pull.

Mate I've had my 2.0 ltr cdti 160 elite insignia for a couple of months.
It's a great car lots of toys.
    But it's crap on juice.
I do mostly short trips and get 35mpg as an average.
Maybe the ecoflex is the way to go.
Mpg must be top of your list?
I am seriously thinking of getting the vxr!

I would avoid the 1.8 petrol. The 130 BHP is ok, does 44MPG and may do more, if Vauxhall ever sort out the recall on engine management Low MPG issue. I have the 130 Tourer and would take the 160 BHP next time, especially if i went for Tourer again

i was looking at the stats on all 3 cars on a site called CAR PAGES, i found it very helpful.
at the minute im only getting around 28mpg with the 1.8vvti and seeing that i do over 600 miles a week surely with the fuel saving the car would pay for itself.
im not too concerned about top speed or 0-60 times, well not 100% LOL

moreso on value for money and running costs as ill be using it for work and the 160 BHP seems to fit the bill.
but being a petrol head from day one, im a bit nervous about buying a deisel motor as i know when they give trouble they can be a nightmare.

    DECISIONS DECISIONS??????
