    confused Aftermarket headlight issues

Recently I purchased a pair of new DEPO SRi/GSi style darker headlights to fit to my 02 Vectra. The standard lights put out a fantastic beam, but with these fitted, no matter what I did, were rubbish. The light was not smooth and consistant and it had blotches of brighter light here and there. The main beam was hopeless and went out sideways. This all happened with the same bulbs that were fitted to the original lights. They looked fab fitted, until they went and steamed up! I removed them and popped the standard ones back on and what a difference - I could see again at night!

Was there something I did wrong, or I could try as they look to be of excellent quality and look ace on the car. I have heard that DEPO lights are a decent brand.

Any ideas? A pic is below....

    Cheers,
    Chris

I had the same problem. Bought them from a "supplier" (can I name them?) on E Bay. Absolute ****! Over the space of 3 months I had about 6 faulty headlamps sent to me, nearly every one had broken adjusters, one had already been fitted and was all steamed up, I even had to pay again for a replacement at one point because they didn't want to send me anymore. I eventually got a refund, after many many phone calls and threats of trading standards (always works that one) I was on the point of travelling down to Devon to sort it out personally! So BEWARE if your thinking of buying some. Im waiting for a pair of OE Vx ones to come up now. There maybe decent aftermarket ones out there but you pay your money you takes your chance!

They were a bit of a bargain at £50 plus £10 delivery. In the headlight fitting guide on the site the guy fits the same ones as mine and therefore I (stupidly) thought £60 was ok! Where can I get a set of Vaux jobbies for £200?

    Thanks,
    Chris

    Not if you use LMF £160 + £10 P&P

Eek, that does sound a bit too cheap!

That thread was a while ago so the price may have gone up a bit from what I said above, but they are the proper job as fitted to mine......
