Thinking of getting my vvt remapped the car has just ticked onto 79k would it be worth it with those miles on the car and how many miles will i get out of one of these engines?

My old mk3 astra 1.8 (c18xel) has done 230k no problems only a head gasket once and is still going well
its supposed to be worth doing although you will only get about another 15bhp tops.. it increases throttle response, drivability, torque, bhp, mpg (if driven sensibly), ups the rev limit if you wish and gets rid of the flat spot that the VVT engines have in the lower rev range.
just don't spend too much getting it done. However before you do such things you should have a sports exhaust and a high flow air filter at least, some will also fit Iridium spark plugs and then again some don't.
Thanks for the info there mate got the panel filter and iridium plugs already, car gets serviced every 6 months like the other car and timing belt is getting done this week, Its mainly the flat spot i want rid of as the car drives fine apart from that just the mileage i'm worried about don't want to get it remapped then the engine gives up
79k is nothing on a modern engine, as long as you maintain it and change the oil every few thousand miles with quality oil then the remap wont make much if any difference to the life of the engine
