its a lovely car but worth that much?
i must admit id love another gte.had 3 of them.
Is it worth it? Original unrestored, single owner, fully documented car, with no rust. Most likely the only better example is with VX themselves. Already a classic, so can only appreciate. Yes it may not make any money in the next 5 years, but then neither is your money sitting in a bank.
one of cars i have always liked but back in day you could not leave it anywhere they were always been stolen ( ie always a hole in the door lock)
the one i drove was a h reg 2.0 gte lcd display in black back in the 90s loved it it had the knight rider effect lol
i would rather put the 10 grand towards a white vxr insignia in a few years time
The only thing that doesn't add up is that it has the steel wheels with the white trims and then an alloy as a spare?
I had an Ereg GTE and loved it, only kept it 3 months, got sick of the alarm going off all the time and damage to the door locks from thieves. If i'd had a garage at the time i would have kept it.
Also its the first GTE if seen with steelies and trims.
Im pretty sure all the 1.8 8v GTE's came with steelies and trims, it was only when the 16v came out when the alloys were put on.
As Das said though, it is worth it, they are a rare car, especially unmolested.
Would absolutely love one of these but it's not worth anywhere near that, you can get mint 16v ers for less than half that
