Default Traction control on 1.8 SXI

Has my vec c 1.8 sxi got traction control and if so, how effective is it? Does it require any maintence? Only had the car since New Year's Day, car runs well but wants some tinkering ie. lambda sensors, cam belt change etc etc.

Just not felt it kick in yet like it does on my discovery, obv two different cars completely.

    Thanks josh

don't think the 1.8 has it , easiest way is turn the ignition on , if you only have an ABS light & no light next to it then you have no TC .

No, don't recall seeing one next to ABS when ignition is turned. Answers my question, new tyres may be on the card then as doing an awful lot of wheel spinning on uphill starts when not an abundance of acceleration. Many thanks for your quick response.

You need to upgrade you abs module to have tc. Don't pay any more than £40. And then you'll need tech2.

Traction control wasn't fitted to any 1.8 litre Vectra as standard - however it was available as an optional extra on most pre-facelift models (apart from the LS). I don't have a post-facelift brochure to check whether it was on later models though.

Bootful of revs and dump the clutch! If it spins it don't have it! Assuming a 1.8 can spin the wheels......
