If they can only be used once, then using someone's from here would be no good, unless it's not already been used.

It's just like any other data CD. Nothing special about it at all, and can be re-used over and over again.

How can you tell if your cd70 hasn't been upgraded yet?

Doesn't add mp3 playback does it? Lol

Nope not on mine :-( made loads of mp3 CDs thinking it would and it just spits them out saying invalid cd!

Could be because mines a 2005 with the old GID??

It's blooming annoying though coz there's no aux in either haha

The Firmware Update Discs are dated - so put your CD70 into Testmode and cycle through the screens to find what date your installed firmware is. Obviously, a later dated Firmware Update Disc is what you're after and the last updates corrected a few errors and added support for the Aux In socket (where fitted).

The most common mistake when burning music discs for the CD70 is when using Windows Media Player, creating a data disc using the default settings... this changes everything to .wmp format and the CD70 doesn't like it.
If you are using Windows Media Player, in the settings ensure you select 'Do Not Convert' and only select .mp3 files to add to your playlist. Using other applications, just ensure your settings mean the burned output is .mp3 format when the application is able to convert file types.

An Aux In socket can be added even to older build CD70 headunits - there's a chap in Slovakia (I think) does them or you can find instructions if you're a dab hand with a soldering iron.

Thanks for that ill have a look!

I made the mp3 CDs on iTunes same way I have for years and they play fine in my Sony Hi fi so I just assumed they would work in the cd70!

Aux in would be nice but I'm planning to upgrade to a colour screen unit in the future so would probably do it to that and not my current one!

    Think mines on 2005 firmware?
