My niece is finally coming home after 8m in hospital

Katie-Lou will be coming home on Tuesday for a day trial to see how my bro and Sis-in-law get on. If all goes well shell be home permanently by Thursday :-)

The renovations to the housr are 98% complete so thanks to everyone who donated. It's what made it possible to bring her home this soon.

Unfortunately she'll never be the same again. She's paralysed and can communicate with us. They're trialling a computer system that is controlled by her eyes. She can select multiple options e.g. Looks at 'I'm hungry' and the computer speaks it. There is even a possibility that shell be able to type by looking at letter and even can be hooked up to Facebook, just what a 14yt old needs. That's a long way off but fingers crossed there'd enough of her mind still intact to use it!

I'm flying up to Edinburgh in march to see her. It's been 6 months since I last saw her and my bro. Looking forward to spending the weekend up there but wish I could afford to take my wife and girls up.

My thoughts are with you and your family I hope things get better.

My old squad m8 has a USB type port in in head behind his ear, they plug into it to adjust his brain to accept his loss of limbs as he still thinks they are there and on fire !!

The brain a wonderful thing and can repair its self to a certain degree, its great theres a level of contact with her I hope it develops further in the future.
