Default vectra c sri 2.2 dti decat

hi people, im after getting a bit more poke and a nicer sound from my 04 vectra 2.2 dti sri, looking at some different bits n bobs ie k&n filter and full boxless (no silencer) exhaust in cluding de-cat. does any body know if this http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/VECTRA-C-3...item4aad74237d will fit on my car or does anyone know of one for my car, also looking at this, not to worried about stainless steel

    Default

The decat in the first link wont fit.

The DIT's cat is part of the downpipe from the turbo to centre section.

Someone else may be able to help you with the second link as i'm not sure if there's size differences between the 2.2 petrol and diesel

As far as I know the DTi engines only had the one cat underneath. I had mine chopped out and replaced with a piece of pipe by the local exhaust place.

It's not exactly on the downpipe as on CDTis, I mean it's not placed just after the exhaust, though it's one the same pipe (that's much longer on this engine).

It's actually after the flex braided connection, just before the central silencer, and exhaust specialists can unwield them and replace them with a tube - or hide it inside the emptied catalyser for MOT passing, wielding it back over the added tubing.

I just emptied mine using a rebar and fitted the downpipe back straight away.

It really helps the engine climbing up revs fast, and doesn't change anything for MOT, as they only check for smoke on diesels.

Just knock the guts out of your cat with a bar and then replace it. An incomplete exhaust system could be picked up on the mot and failed.
