    Default egr cleaning method?

    whats the correct procedure for this, do i need to take the black motor off the egr valve as well? (4 torx bolts) ??

    Yes, then soak in carburettor cleaner, use tooth brush or similar to get inside the valve, a bit fidley but easy enough.

    No need to punch and take out the selenoid if your EGR still works.

    True, check the solenoid pintle if nice and free to move in and out once you split the valve from the solenoid housing by removing the 4 torx. If it is then no need to go any further. You could always drill the small hole though and spray in a little grease as a preventative (measure.
