    Default Number Plate Request

Please could some one make my number plate smaller to fit the resess of the bumper?

    Vectra by apicken21, on Flickr

I have done this before on other cars but the resess what bigger on my other car so didn't look to bad, my clio with the fitted number plate

struggling to work out what you want,.. surely the numberplate shown on the Vec fits neatly in it's recess already - it does in the pic anyway?

Are you wanting to 'lift' the plate effectively so that the plate does not cover the lower intake/grille?

The Vectra one hangs lower into the opening.

You mean raise the plate into the bumper so more of the grille is visible?

I think plates for legal reasons have to be a certain size and ratio do they not? Unless you modify the bumper to accept this 'shape' then you will be breaking the law.

ps,... my photoshop skills are nil, nut I removed my plates when cleaning my car last Friday and can see why you want to do this as it did look better showing the full lower grille

There's plenty of sellers on eBay! Search small number plate! There's some at 12x3!

I would link to them but I'm on my phone and using the eBay app! I might get one for mine! Reckon it would look good!

Anyone know the worst that can happen for running a smaller plate? How much the fine is etc? Coz I ran my car with my front plate on the dash for over a year an never got pulled over lol

You dont have to have a plate on the front off you car you can have it in the windscreen as long as its on display or so i was told anyway may get abit off grief of the old police though

That's good to know! I know down here in rural Norfolk the police don't seem to car unless you drive like a dick lol

To be honest from what I can gather its a £30 fine for a badly displayed plate... I'd chance it for one the same width same font legal spacing but a little shorter to lose the over hang!

Fancy plates make any size you want but one front plate was £15 at the size of 520x90mm
