If you only have one car and use it all year round and in all weathers/conditions then snowflakes are a bad idea IMO. The 35 side profile does not provide sufficient support for the rims, particularly on the inside edge. They tramline for England and fight for grip until you get some heat into the tyres. Going from Stanley Road through the lights at the Rotunda onto Scotland Road on the 19"s is comical, and scary in the wet, as the road surface is so poor like a patchwork quilt of cheap repairs of all sorts (Liverpool City Council have not maintained their roads properly for decades), and the front tyres fight each other for grip.
17"s just soak up all the bumps so much better.
And smaller wheels accelerate quicker
