been squeaking for a while now so i changed the belt but squeak was still there so decided to give every thing a good clean to investigate my squeak.

cleaned the pulleys, the tensioner, around the air conditioning, the cam shaft and altinator pulleys and discovered the noise was coming from the tensioner so replaced the tensioner and the noise was not as bad but still there.

i now think the bottom pulley needs replaced but have read somewhere on this forum that it can be bypassed with a smaller belt.

By the way sorry it is an '05 CDTI 120 8v.

Is this the case because if so it would be cheaper to replace the belt rather than the pulley?

would the pulley have to be removed from the block and is the pulleys the same top and bottom.

Thanks in advance
