Default Abs and Traction Control warning lights on in 2002 Vectra C 2.0dti

As above. I'm doing a bit of work on a friends car and both these lights are on in the dash. She said that the plug for the abs sensor in the front drivers arch had dislodged and trailed along the ground. She just wants the lights out to pass the test and doesn't care if it works or not.

My question is if i splice the wire together will it put out both lights or just the abs?

    Any help much appreciated

    Cheers

    Rory

You will have to disconnect the ABS Pump connector and reconnect once you've done the work.

I had a duff connection in the drivers front wheelarch and repaired it, but the light wouldn't go out til i tried the above

I have a code reader that can delete the codes from the euu and im hoping that will do the same job after I've spliced it. Does the traction control work off the same connection?

Yes, the traction control runs from the abs pump, but clearing the codes might not turn off the light. I tried clearing it twice but the only thing that turned out the light was to pull the abs pump plug for 5 mins

unless the fault has been rectified the code will not go away, it isnt a matter of open or short circuit but a signal which goes up the cable
Plasma's Tech2 services are now open and able to provide services
