in a pickle over my D.P.F

ive not long bought my 05 plate signum 1.9cdti 120bhp and into a month or so of having it it started blowing blue smoke now and again and idling up and down when stationary, so had it plugged in and its come up with d.p.f problems so ive priced up a new one around £250 but ive also been told i could have it removed and mapped off the e.c.u for £400, im hoping to keep the car for a couple of years what do you guys recomend or suggest all comments welcome thanks

Get it removed I had mine removed in September best thing I ever done 50+ mpg rather than 35 mpg

stupid question.. whats the D.P.F im in the process for buying a signum and the list keeps getting bigger for things to ask about to fix.. lol

its a real mess vx fitted to exhausts on autos and estates,just costs £££ to fix,supposed to clean gasses up,Diesel Particulate Filter

Diesel Particulate Filter ... a device fitted to 'capture' unburned exhaust particles and then occasionally burn them off during a 'regeneration cycle'.

No completely separate. EGR valves are another kettle of fish - they're easy to sort though, blanking plate off Ebay for 5 quid.
