Please explain the module idents please

I'm baffled as to what the idents on all the modules mean. I was under the impression at one time that all the idents had to match but i think thats not true. After looking through Ecat24 for parts for the park pilot system i'm installing, i am baffled as most parts refer to ident codes. Bamboozled

They're basically the same item but for different trim/equipment levels. For example the Driver's Door Module (DDM) comes in many different flavours depending on whether you have a boot release, folding mirrors, dimming wing mirror or a combination of them. The same goes for all the other ECU's, especially the CIM...

Don't quote me on this, but I don't think there's any difference in CID's except possible the prefacelift and facelift. They may have been slightly different shapes as the vent surrounds are different. Also, on the Elite's you'd have the climate control display and bluetooth if it's selected, but I would expect that to simply be a matter of programming the specific modules and having the right wiring looms than having a different display.

Hopefully someone else knows for certain though...
