Default Car went on the ramp and....

All looked really well, as mentioned new rear control arms needed, going to put some silicone on my barke lines to stop them perishing and need to bolt down the heatshield which is loose, all those hopefully will be done by the end of the day.

    BUT

We cant for life figure out the knocking creaking knoise from the front, suspension bushes and mounts are spot on...

I think it must be the springs moving in the cups, apparently they can be fixed with some sleeves but for the time being I am going to live with it...

Always nice to see I havent bought a complete lemon like last time

also have full service history up to 2010, so going to do a service once its a little warmer, saying that oil is clean as anything and all is smooth and quiet.

And rear struts are Gas, not sure if this is normal or an upgrade but explain the height and firmness

Mine is creaking and clattering front and rear. :-( Having had the mechanic who presented my car for its MOT in September check the suspension on a lift for me and draw a blank, my money is on anti-roll bar bushes front and rear. (I have less than one year old Meyle drop links on the front but shall replace the rears.) I'll be doing all this when I can free up some time, money and mojo. Paul

I am not too worried about those but will replace them too prior to next MOT...I did them on my last mitsubishi and they were easy except for the fact the thread had gone in the drop links so had to cut them out

Youll have to let me know how you get on with them once you have done them.

Mine has a creaking type noise that sounds like bushes/rubber, but most say that its anti roll bar rubbers, only does it when cold not when hot but that could be the heat from the engine expanding bar or rubbers.

Radiator springs... I didnt believe it either, spray them with WD40.. my knocking stopped instantly.

Open the bonnet, look down at the rad, at the top under the slam panel there is 1 spring each side... cake it in WD40 & try it.

I highly suggest trying just spraying WD40 on the springs that hold the top of your rad in, I knew about them for months & just laughed when people on here suggested it. I tried it just thinking I was taking a slash in the wind but it actually worked!
