    Default Rear caliper rebuilds

Anyone undertaken this on a wind in caliper. Is there anything to look out for. I've done normal calipers before but never the wind in type.

Normally i'd just buy recon calipers but I got 2 292 calipers and carrier for nothing a couple of years ago but one of them is seized. It just so happens that the IS3 now needs new rear pads so I was going to refurb the 292 calipers and fit the 292 discs and pads as they cost the same as the 278s.

Does the back plate on the facelift need cut for the 292 calipers?

U either cut it or replace for one designed for vented discs.... Iirc they are 11£ odd from Vauxhall , bad news rear hubs have to come out , as for caliper pop dust cover off, unscrew piston replace inner seal u can use 278 mm piston as they same size

Cheers Seb, what part of the cover needs cut. Is it for the caliper or the disc?

Cheers again bud, I'll just change the back plate too then. I'm saving about 100 quid by rebuilding the calipers myself anyway

First caliper stripped today and it appears it was the handbrake mech sticking on it. I've freed everything off so it should be ok. Gonna do the other one before I think about ordering seals though
