i'd rather a spare than save a little bit of weight
No good if you have a blow out or damaged wheel.
I ask as a lot new cars only come with a can in the boot
Why would you want to remove it?
Dont think wath the weight of the car and the varying weight of driver / passenger, full or half tank, the spare removal will make any noticable difference to the car, drive or it's performance
Doesn't make sense to me.
Yes the weight will be "saved" due to the spare being removed. However any damage to the sidewall or rim, no amount of foam will seal it.
Then you have the hassle of cleaning the foam out if the wheel can be used again.
Keep your spare (and remove the rear sear)
My wifes Meriva VXR had a can of sealant as standard. It now has a 16" spare in the boot.
