Default HELP! cleaned EGR now have fault p2279

Hi all, as title i thought i would take my egr off today to clean to see if i could get rid of the smoking and lack of low end power my car has cdti 120. Cleaned it and put back together and now runs terrible, no power at all, turbo not kicking in either, smoking real bad, eml on showing code p2279. Checked all connections etc all nice and tight, what next??

Update on my problem, opened the solenoid side of the egr by removing the 4 torx bolts and couldn't beleive how much soot was in it. It was completely full to the top with soot so dug it all out and cleaned with inlet/carb cleaner, the black plastic part of the egr was ok and the solenoid moved freely so just squirted a bit of wd40 0n the solenoid and worked it up and down.
Put it all back together and WOW! it's a different car, effortless power, smooth pickup throughout and hardly any smoke unless i really boot it.
At least i know what to do next time thanks to vec-c.com.
    cheers.
