    Default hello from the northeast

hello just joined not yet bought my vectra diesel yet because in a bit of a dilemma having read various posts on the 150 model and there problems with swirl valve manifolds and dual mass flywheels .Just wondering what i should buy 120 model that has no swirl valves but a bit slower or 150 and have manifold trouble or 150 auto that has no flywheel trouble . Seems to be alot of knowledge around on this forum your views would be greatly appreciated , one last thing is the auto box reliable cheers steve .......

I would rather go for the 150 , 120's seem to suffer from cold starting problems & are also more likely to wreck the engine than a 150 if the belt fails .

Hello Mate, yes lots of compromises, the auto will also have the dreaded DPF, but to be honest all cars have problems and all diesels have DMFs, dpf...etc. whatever you buy, you can still take dpf out, blank the egr and if you get a post I think 2007 vec then the manifold would be an updated one, I have the 150 and I believe it's a good compromise between power and economy plus you can get it remapped to nearly 200bhp, not bad

    Ohhh ..........

Well , if you fancy a bit of of a road trip one evening , L.O.L.

There was talk of having the end of month meetings at different places to be fair .

Contact Northern Lad or Big Red ( our Regional Vectra C Officers ) and they will let you know .

    Enjoy the site .

P.S. = Members have been known to turn up in cars that are not Vectras , so while you are looking for a Vectra , you could meet the gang and get advice and any help you need .

I've had two 150 Cdtrtis mate and had no bother whatsoever, if your worried try and get a car that has had the dodgy parts replaced already or pay a bit extra for a warranty that gives you peace of mind, the problems aren't really that common if you think about how many vectras were sold,I've got an auto now albeit a v6turbo and the box works perfectly, dont know if its same one as diesel one mind hth mate
