    Default Gearing 2.2 dti Vectra

Hi, i own a 2.2 dti vectra 53 plate and the gearing in 5th gear is showing 34mph per 1000 rpm. This is very tall but my queery is is that someone said vectra b and c come with 30 mph per 1000 rpm.

Are they right and my speedo is considerably fast or are they talking out their bottom.
Please put my mind at rest.

Just looked in my 04 model year book and it says the 2.2 dti in top gear is 30.7 mph / 1000 rpm or 31.0 for SRi and Elite

Graham, don't forget your speedo will over read a couple, or so, mph. e.g. when my SatNav shows I'm doing exactly 30mph, my speedo is around 32/33 mph. All speedos will do this to some extent so that there is no chance of them under reading - which is illegal.

No, as Duncan says speedos do usually over read by a couple of mph.

If your speedo reads more than 2 / 3 mph over the actual speed you might like to have a word with your local vx as this would also mean you car is putting on more miles than it should and service intervals will come around quicker.
