Hello there has anybody got s dumpvalve for a 2002 (52) vec c 2.0DTI and how easy are they to fit and any recommendations ?? Many thanks Chris

Would require a lot of work and to be honest, it'll sound like a bus. Not worth it imo, as there's no need for one. All it will do is give a Psssssht noise, it'll give absolutely no benefit to performance
Totally pointless
not my cup of tea but again each to there own, im sure its possible if thats what you want mate
Totally useless on a diesel, and even counter-efficient.
Let's explain :
Turbo diesels never build vacuum at the intake, so not only it has no use, but it won't even work.
The turbo diesel so-called "dump valves" you see on the web are actually fakes. They work using an electric trigger wired to the accelerator pedal to open the valve when lifting your foot, letting part of the pressure blowing out, only aiming at making stupid noise and nothing else. In fact, they're just electric driven whistles.![]()
BTW, since you'll lose some intake pressure in the process, you'll just miss it when reaccelerating, adding some additional turbo lag, so it will finally result in poorer performance.
To sum up :
- It has no purpose at all, as turbo diesel engines work with permanent overpressure at the intake
- You'll lose pressure, so you'll get lower performance
- It will cost more as it has added electrical solenoid and wiring as compared to regular petrol engines models
- You'll just look retarded with your tractor sounding engine and silly WRC blow-off valve noise !![]()
On the other hand, the 2.2 DTi makes a nice blow off noise when releasing presssure, but it's because of the variable geometry turbocharger (don't ask me where the sound comes from BTW, I still couldn't figure out)... The 2.0 DTi has a classical fixed turbo with a wastegate, so it doesn't blow off when releasing the pedal... Sorry.
On the other hand, still, I found my wife's 2.0 DTi Zafira had much less turbo lag than my 2.2 DTi Vectra at low revs, so this engine has its own advantages.![]()

Just get it fitted lol put one on my cdti..nt for power increase bla bla bla just for the sound..alwaya wanted a dump valve and this being my first turbo gitted car a went for it.and lov it![]()

LOL
Of course, if noise is what you actually wanted, then you got it.
BTW, since the 1.9 CDTi uses a VNT turbo too, didn't it blew off already when decelerating ?
A lot of other turbocharged cars or SUVs do emit a turbo whinning / whistling sound when building pressure up, and may blow some pressure out when releasing the pedal, without an actual dump / blow off valve, the same way the 2.2 DTi does... What about the unmodified 1.9 CDTi ?
Also note that our diesels can emit quite a satisfactory grunt at the exhaust side, but the engine bay will always sound as a tractor, including the 3.0 V6 CDTI...![]()
