Default Insignia, better than the Passat

Just thought I'd put this in if anyone's interested. My Vectra was recently in a rear shunt. The courtesy car given to me was an Insignia SRI estate. A week later they swapped it for a VW Passat. In my opinion the Insignia was a much better car all round, actually, in every way. Both cars were new. My only gripe was that stupid handbrake!

    And a PS
The Insignia was better on fuel.

Got the electric handbrake in mine - you get used to it mate, it just makes driving other cars a bit of a nightmare when it doesn't self-release on driving off...

This VW quality thing is just a myth. My old Bora was no better inside than the missus Focus of a similar age.

I just found, especially in reverse, it was easy to stall unless you gave it some welly! A nice car though, and looks so much nicer than the VW

I have the electric handbrake on my Grand Scenic Megane and when you stop the car with the stop / start button , the handbrake automatically goes on .

I worry that when i come back to a Vectra that i will forget to pull the handbrake , after being used to the auto brake and i see the Vectra rolling down the road .

Luckily ... i normally park in gear .

It's stupid not to - no matter what I tell my girlfriend she refuses to do it as her handbrake has never failed. Apparently 'you shouldn't have to do it', so I put it in gear every time I park her car up, and then when she starts it again (with the clutch in) she lifts off and it leaps forward causing her to swear and curse at me...
