    Default Camping Help

I hope someone can help. As soon as the weather gets a bit warmer i would like to get some quality time with my little boy, he will be nearly 3 and loves his indoor tent and as such i think he would love camping so im looking into taking him but we will be starting from scratch. Firstly i have no idea about tents and no idea what to look for in a tent. Im guessing the larger the better so something like a 4-6 birth as another member of family might come along. Can anyone give some pointers, ive probably got about £100-150 for the tent and second hand is fine? Any help appreciated.

It all depends on what you want. Halfords tend to be tents for good weather camping, and to be honest the sleeping bags are not that great. I have 4 tents and by far the best is a Vango 6 berth with sown in groundsheet. This is ideal for long stays. I have a halfords special which was given to me by a friend, I have only used it once because as I have said it is only a fair, preferably hot, weather tent. As for sleeping bags I have 2 One is a 4 season bag the other is a 2 season bag. I also have 3 man and 2 man hiking tents both of which have sewn in groundsheets. As said it all depends on exactly what you want to do.

if you go for 'sleeping bags' get the ones you can zip together to make like a duvet (i think they are marked L & R) Oh make sure the tent is doubled skined

Good point forgot to mention that. By the way Go outdoors is brilliant for having a look around to see what the tents are like when they are erected. get prices then check Amazon etc.
