Slow deffo not i drive a 1.8 and it will see off 3 series 1.8s and so on by no means slow it moves when it wants obvs not as quick as a 1.9 or others off the line but top speed around the same

welcome along . it is a vectra so dont worry if it is not as fast as some . just make it look as good as you are happy with

Welcome aboard mate and tbh the 1.8 vectra is never going to set the world alight performance wise as its a big heavy car for 140 ish bhp to pull aalong but should still motor along just nicely,I'm sure there are a few common probs with this engine,cam solenoids etc but generally it's a good engine,we have Astra twintop with this engine and it goes ok,comes on cam after 4k revs and makes a nice kind of vtec howl as it does so,fuel economy in my experience is pretty poor,certainly on our twintop where 25 ish mpg is pretty common but again this is stop start driving and the Astra is a fairly heavy car hth mate
