    Default Budget Catch Can Fitted

Got bored tonight so fitted the bits i collected, just need a couple of spring clips tomo... Used a mine air compressor filter and the rest of my clear pipe, decided to fit after a 1000 mile test with that standard pipe replaced with clear and the inside was filthy...

Made a small bracket attatched to the bracket for engine cover but it's not the best so will redo that later, had to temporarily cable tie as the bracket is too thin...

The bottom has a self drain tap, so I've put a 4mm vacuum hose running off under the car for the bulk of the mist etc. will see how this goes for another 1000, hit 65k today too

Looks great, are you sure you're getting enough flow through the filter though?

Ahhh sorry dude, with all that fantastic engine bay bling, this just doesn't do it for me. But thats just my opinion though.

It just doesn't fit in for me...
Get a nice polished alloy one, now that will fit in...

Yeah more then enough as the filter has been drilled etc...

And this was more practical then bling Matt, it's all hidden under the engine cover, gonna post some pics later as just finishing my air pipe now

Yeah it looks more functional, but being the appreciator I am of engine bay shinyness I am, I thought I should mention it...
I'm looking forward to the air intake pics!

Well, done a good few miles and it's working well... Don't have to drain it but I keep checking it and there's not much oil after a long stint, more of a watery or oil vapour & mist, it's does a good few mil and condensation builds inside, rest of the pipe work to the intake and within the intake remains bone dry

Will try remember to take a pic after the next long run...

With the joys if the new vectra-c search I can't find my old thread with the "gunk" update!

Anyway, last time I cleaned it, it looked like this!!

Just gone to clean it again and its just as bad, this time however the gunk blocked the release and there was about half inch of water in it!!

Anyway, today's play, sod the valve and drilled straight through

Hopefully big enough for the water to go down the 4mm drainage tube, might also mean having to clean it a lot less then every 2/3 month... But that's short journeys for you

P.S, anyone have a pic of where I can fit one on to my CDTI?
