Default ebay catch can ....... baffeled

So after seeing one on here and reading of the benefits of not having oil pumped back into the intake and mixing with egr soot I decided to get myself one

(plenty of other guides on how to do this on other forums)

Started off with a eBay non baffled catch tank

    Stripped it down

Got myself a 10mm od piece off pipe and gave it a slight bend so it would fit into the inlet and clear the walls of the tank

Then cut notches out off it so the pipe can still breath as it fills with oil

Next I got a mesh folder from homebase for a fiver , and cut out 3 rings with hole for intake to make a filter for the top outlet

Then I filled it with the baffle material , for this I used stainless steel scouring balls which can be stretched out yet won't break up . One went around the pipe the other 3 packed the can. The pads were a quid

That pic had 3 pads in the fourth went in to completely fill it and 're attached the bottom , job done

Any comments on it or surgestions off anthing I've not thought off are welcomed . I will not be venting to atmosphere but back into intake with a hell of a lot less oil

Finally got around to fitting this today, didn't take long and happy with the results

Made a bracket up, plumbed it in. The pics can do the talking

Now for the disbelievers that say cdtis already have a catch can so doesn't require one well I poked my finger inside the metal pipe before the intake and

That's not a mist that's proper heavy oil LOL

I bought 13mm Id 18mm od heater hose as its got good heat resistance and is internally reinforced to save it chafing through. Bit of a squeeze joining on the metal pipe to intake but bit of fairy liquid and it went on. Couldn't get original rubber off so cut it and used an inch of 15mm pipe to insert and join original and new pipe then jubilee clip as required

Next up is to restrict egr soot flow till I can have it properly mapped out

But for now hopefully this will allow my intake system to start a cleaning cycle
