    Default smds for side lights

ive fitted smds for my side lights error free ones there ****** bright really good, only prob is they strobe when not on eg

when the engine has started and there switched off they strobe until engine is off or you turn them on, i know people say the vectra dont leds and i understand that the pulse/strobe is the light out system but leds dont need that much power and the pulse is lighting them up hence the strobe, am i right?

Yes, pretty much fella. You would need to consider re-wiring the sidelight arrangements to have them "relay" switched if you are going to get around the problem. You can fit cancellers if needed, but all they do is fool the "system" into thinking you don't have a bulb failure. Apart from that it's back to "ordinary" bulb types, or live with strobing and hope it doesn't get used as an excuse to pull you over.

they do strobe like a cop car thats the thing. i dont want the hassle of getting pulled, or only other way is switch them on all the time but cant be bothered with that. are the indicators connected to the bulb out system? ill put them in side repeaters if i have to or number plate bulbs

Yes, amazingly the lights are so cleverly thought out, that if the system detects a front sidelight out (when using them as parking lights is when I found out) the system activates the front indicator constantly so as to provide a safe alternative.

So, you're either going to live with it, or rewire them via relays if you want to look "normal", or , revert back to normal bulbs.

There are so many threads on this subject / LED's strobing , etc... It would be worth doing a search and reading what the other guys have done in similar circumstances.

It's possible to turn on the front lights as DRLs so that they come on with the ignition, just got to remember to tun on the lights properly when it gets dark so that you have tail lights on.
