alternator? i hope nothing else

hi all

my battery light kept coming on intermittently over the past few days but all i needed to do is restart the car and all was well for a few hours then yesterday it came on again and wouldn't reset could this defo be alternator? this morning the car was fine until 5 mile down the road when power steering went out the window (scary). also the car and spanner light comes on with the battery light, i have had the spanner light come on very random for the past 8 months when going up any kind of hill then off again on the flat could this be related to alternator failing.

same thing happened to me .....battery went flat ....no electrics...power steering ..wipers etc.....alternator checked and replaced...had to have fault codes cleared.....all fine now.....hope its as easy for you...good luck
