I found 17" Nexens to be terrible, Used 17" Kuhmo's good grip and good wear, Currently using Sunitrac and would say grip wise as good as Kuhmo, but not been on the car long enough to evaluate tyre wear so will see how they wear but for £43 a tyre very impressed with them,

CAn't comment on kumhos but I have nexens on the front of my siggie 3.2, 215/50/17 and I am pleasantly surprised at how well they do for a budget tyre.

Ive converted to Vredestein Ultrac Sessanta. The set of 18s on my signum are lasting well and theyve been great in dry, the wet and surprisingly in the snow as well.

i've got kuhmos on my 16s at the minute, found they are great in all but snow when they were rubbish, dont know if 18s/would grip any better or worse as apparently narrower tyres give better grip in snow.may get a pair of snow tyres for the 16s and stick them on in any real bad weather-would that be ok with 18s on the rear?

I've had both Khumos and nexens, I was warned before buying the nexens that they were referred to as ditch finders by the tyre place fitting them and I soon regretted it, I had them fitted to my 1.2sxi twinport corsa c and they were terrible, I fitted proxes to it after that. I've had Khumos on the vectra and changed the fronts last January just after a year (wasn't their fault, was a bubbled side wall due to a pot hole) was pleased with them, the rears I only changed a few weeks ago due to inner edge wear from poor camber due to coilovers. Khumos gripped nicely through corners and the wear was good too

I found Nexen changed the handling severely and would never buy them again. Kumho excellent .. Good grip in all weathers.. Surprisingly good in the wet. But they wear fast. I got 15k out of the fronts but will buy them again. Im running 225/45/18
