Default Brake Pedal toggles Winter Mode

    Hi All

    I have just bought a 2007 Vectra-C 2.2 Direct Elite Auto.

When the shift lever is in Park, every press of the brake pedal toggles winter mode.

Is this a fault or an option setting?

Definitely the snowflake, comes up next to the "P" in the console display.
Before moving away the winter button next to the shift lever can toggle winter mode as well.

Me neither. Is it also lighting up the symbol on the dash display as well?

Doesn't sound right, mine works exclusively off the button or if I move the selector from D over to semiauto.

    Sounds like a fault then.
Short from brake pedal sensor to winter mode switch input?
but pressing winter mode button does not light brake light.

I need a wiring diagram - time to buy the Haynes manual.
(Looked for one the other day, but my local Halfords only had Vectra-A and -B, thank god for Amazon.)

It is possible that the previous owner had a hands-free kit installed which he removed prior to selling the car.
(Usage stats on CD70 shows high hours for Ph: - (phone?))
Removing this may have caused a wiring issue resulting in my problem.
    Anyone concur ?

Got a Tech2 on the case today, think I've found the problem.

Looking at the Shift Lever Module Diagnostic Data, there appears to be a short between the Push Break LED output and the Winter Mode Switch input.
