    Default Stealers lose out again

THe Hearse is due a cambelt change so rang around as you do. Stealers wanted £325 for the kit and £162 to fit coming to a total of £487.

Rang an independent who specialize in vauxhall and did my dmf,csc and clutch last year. They will do it using genuine parts and also include the interim service which is due in a couple of weeks for £360.

No prize for guessing where it's booked in at.

Someone's screwed up the parts list there then, as those figures should easily be the other way round at the very least. The cambelt kit is not a huge list of components, even when you include the water pump at around 40 squid...

Water pump does not need doing on the v6 apparently as its not belt driven.

Ahh, hadn't realised it was the V6 diesel. Yes, the water pump is gear driven, along with the fuel pump which in turn then drives the cambelt. Even so, it shouldn't be that much for the belt kit - I'm sure it's only one/two rollers and the tensioner in it from when I had mine done. I had the cambelt, major service and first MoT done at a VX dealership for 500 squid...

Cheapest kit I could find on the net was £180 then there would be the cost of fitting and then the service so I feel the price is fine.
