2.2 direct.how do i remove and clean egr valve?

Can i remove and clean the EGR Valve on my 2004 2.2 direct. I have been told it's a piston type valve and seems to be sticking.Got amber engine symbol light on dashboard?

yes but you will loose ya coolant aswell as its water cooled

if its the same as mine remove the engine cover egr is on inlet manifold remove 2xwater pipes you will lose a bit of coolant just make sure the header tank cap is on or it will pump out. one bolt on top of egr and one bolt underneath it. you may need to prise it away from the manifold. I have little knowledge of mechanics and i took it off cleaned it and refitted it in 20 minutes. however yours may be different to mine as mine is diesel

It is possible.
It is on the right side towards the back of engine bay, behind fuel pump.
It's only 3 screws (or 4) to remove but you will loose coolant so make sure you have the correct type ready to top back up.
Not sure how to clean it though.
Z22SE is great website as they are dedicated to SE/YH engine.
