    Default Central Locking Problem

    Hello all,

Hoping for some help with a central locking problem....

Got home tonight, pressed the key-fob to lock the doors, they lock, but immediately unlock again. This little sequence goes on for a while (I lock, they unlock...) So I locked all the doors manually.

Then I pressed the unlock button...nothing....pressed the lock button & they unlock.

In summary the car keeps unlocking itself & pressing the lock button will actually unlock the doors.

    Any help gratefully received

Vehicle : Mk1 renault scenic... I know I know but it drives

    Trim : Basic

    Engine : 1.6 16v

    Year : 2003

One of the doors isn't shut properly or at least the car thinks its not.

jump in close doors start car does interior light go out?

do you have symbol on dash showing a door is open?

chances are its the micro switch in drivers door lock. But it could be any of them.

for time being open passenger door and manually push all locks down.

thats will at least secure your car

    Thanks for replying

The interior light stays on if I start the car & drive. There's no warning on the dash though. How do I check the micro switch in the doors?

I've managed to secure the car by pushing down 3 passenger door lock tabs & locking drivers door with the key

Well I've disconnected the electrical connector to the drivers door, reconnected it after counting to 10 & the central locking & key remote are both working fine again. Fingers crossed that's sorted it for good
