Code Readers?

Any recommendations, don't really know what to go for, ideally needs to work on the vectra but also our A2?

Anyone any eBay links to the type you have?

What are you looking for it to do mate?

hand held or laptop based?

maybe opcom and vag com/vcs

gives close to dealer level info for roughly same price as a hand held eobd reader

Cheapest ha... but really depends on price, happy with anything that can just read and reset, if there's not much of an extra price hike to do additional stuff I'll pay it... But one look on eBay and I'm lost...

Vag com can be picked up as Chinese copy for under 10 quid on eBay.

then you can access all systems.
Basic engine code readers are about 20 quid upwards. And only do engine codes. Some don't offer live data etc so arnt too good.

can get launch reader for about 40 quid that will give some live data. Does freeze frame. And also pending codes.

It's 2001... Alsorts at min, its got the speedo issue, knocking front end, lights keep coming on for ABS although there where no lights when it went to garage for CV joint, I've done bearing and abs sensor after they said it was that, now they tell me its ABS pump!!!...

Want my own to check on this, and if I can get one that will do the Vec aswell its a bonus...

Count the teeth in the reluctor ring.

if they've replaced joint it could be wrong. I know few audis round that age suffered with dash problems aswel.

Also sounds random but do all your brake lights work?

Yeah all the lights work, the speedo thing basically is 10% of the driving time it decides it wants to bounce around even when stationary... Sometimes settles sometimes doesn't, read that it could be a sensor coming of the gear box?, bad design in the early A2 and can chafe through the wires... Only problem is I know this engine like the back of YOUR hand lol...
