Dtc p1515

When i started my car (2.2 sxi 04) it revved high so i turned the engine off and restarted it, this time it revved fine but the eml was on so i put my obd2 code reader on it and it came up with DTC 1515 ( Electric Current Circuit Malfunction)

Could anyone tell me what this means please and how to cure it?
I have cleared the code for now.

My money's on the throttle position sensor but im no expert. I'd be tempted to say clear it and see if it happens again, but obviously you'd need to drive knowing that at some point your car might decide to act like you just floored the accelerator pedal.

There are (if i remember correctly) codes relating to bad TPS sensor's, so this may be something like a bare wire touching ground as opposed to the sensor itself, but you'd have to wait for the guys who know to come along and help you diagnose the issue. There are some tests i know of such as hooking it up to a machine and watching the TPS output as you move the pedal, which if you have the correct equipment you could look at in the meantime.

Is the throttle pedal not electronic, could be faulty pedal, or as above, i aint an expert but i am sure someone on here has experianced same problem

The throttle pedal is electronic, or at least the reading of the depression angle is. The TPS reads how far down you have the pedal, which subsequently get's fed into Stephen Hawkings's brain for the end result of increased rev's (sorry if im explaining the obvious, im sure you probably know that already). Hence why i put my money on the TPS as its an electrical circuit error which resulted in over-revving without actually touching the pedal. Since there are already TPS error codes, i'd assume it was a little more generic like a grounding wire somewhere.

But like i said, i'm no expert, just learnt what i know ( / think i know) from reading everyone else's posts on here

Well touch wood..... since clearing the code it hasn't happened again but i have quite a few issues that i will be posting up one by one as i try to tackle them.
