Default LED side lights BUT using a relay?

Has anyone fitted led side lights but used a relay?

Ie: Pull out the normal sidelight holders and bulbs, and splice the power from the live to a relay so it triggers the relay, then take the power for the relay from the battery?

Thats similar to what i have done with my angel halos, you still need something on side light circuit for bulb test ie resistor

Was just going to run 2 under bonnet lights and use the side light 'bulbs' (Lengthen the wires to 2 new under bonnet lights using the same wattage bulb) so they are still 'in circuit' but doing a different job.

It's easier to just fit seperate under bonnet lights, then just seperate holders for the side lights (tuck the old away)

Only really need a relay if the trigger is too weak to power the bulbs for example, otherwise you'll just be adding extra things for nothing...
