Vacuum Pipes. 1.9 120. 2004 vectra c

I have been having intermittent probs regarding poor power especially when on an open road, it seems to take an age to reach 70mph and as for overtaking forget it.

I have tried all the How 2's regarding EGR/MAF/MAP/BOOST PIPES/TURBO BOOST SOLONOID/AIR FILTER/FUEL FILTER. All to no avail. Not getting any codes either.

My question is I am unable to check vac pipes that go round back of engine into reservoir. On some 120's I have seen pics of these pipes go straight to the turbo boost solonoid on the slam panel. Would I be able to bypass the vac reservoir and simply join them up ?.

I use Torque pro on my android and the vac reading at idle is 31.5 if this helps.

Vac pipe is on the front in the middle of the engine next to the radiator mate

Yes I know but it goes to the reseviour at the back of the engine first. I want to know if I can bypass the reseviour incase I have a leak in the pipes close to it where I cant reach. Cheers anyway.

Pul the MAF sensor plug out and run it see if there's a difference.

If still the same

Get the codes read on Tech 2 or Vaux-com if your using a generic reader.

Thanks for the reply will try that. Although wouldnt that throw up codes anyway ? With it being unplugged ??

Bit of an update

Bypassed vac reservoir as described above. Still sluggish

Unplugged MAF. Would hardly move so plugged back in so thats ok.

Unplugged boost control sensor. Even less power so plugged back in so thats ok.

Took it for a run and thrashed it in 3rd, spanner light and into limp mode.

Got codes read = PO234

Although the boost control sensor (MAP) works can it break down under revs ? Or if it was faulty would it not work at all ?.

Check the turbo solenoids free to move and isn't stuck, its about 10mm movement, don't adjust it either.
