    Default is £350 for my timimg belt on my cev c 2005 cdti 150 bhp a good price

    just wundering if 350 is a good price for timing belt and watter pump and kit a good price im in dunbar car has dune 93000 miles im skint but its got to be dun

    Vaux is charging for kit about £118 + Vat by me and pump for £60 + Vat so im getting mine online and doing my self

    I got full kit and pump for £155 all in, all genuine parts from Vauxhall specialist and fitted it myself. Sounds a bit dear to me!

    Just had the Volvo done for £150 too, parts are cheaper weirdly, and that included labour! Didn't fancy it myself.

    Genuine vaux Parts around £150 vauxhall trade club, + 3hrs labour.
    £350 seems too much IMO.

    Got my Cambelt kit and Water Pump off Ebay for £126 and fitted at a VX dealer - Total Cost £278

    If the labour rate is £55 per hour you'd be looking at £165+vat = £198 plus the parts = £350 I wouldn't class that as expensive.
    if you used a main dealer I'd expect the labour rate to be £75-80per hour which would work out as £225 + vat = £270 plus parts = £420.
    You could do it yourself of have someone else do it, but if it was to ever fail at least you would have an invoice to go back with to get it repaired foc.

    thanks everyone main dealer was going to be 410 .i phoned about and got it for 350 genuine parts from Vauxhall .but dont know what the garage is like its in haddington get it done on wed.thanks for advice
