    Unhappy wheel shake

hi can anyone help me out i recently bought some 18" alloys from ebay they are original vauxhall wheels the problem im having is that ive got vibration through the steering wheel ive had them balenced on friday but there still the same. they seem to be fine until you get to about 70 to 80 mph and then you get the vibration. does anyone think spigit rings need to be fitted as the standerd ones were 17" can any body help me as i would be gutted if ive been ripped off payed 400 quid for them.

If they're originally from a vauxhall then i'd be tempted to say that you don't need spigot rings. I've had this problem before. I had the wheels balanced at one place and had vibrations on the motorway then took them somewhere else for balancing and they were fine. I also like to watch them on the balancing machine to see if they run true as they do seem to be able to 'trick' the machine into thinking a buckled wheel is balanced out.

I was told that vibration in the car is a prob with the rear wheels but wobbly steering will be the front wheels. I think all the hubs for the vecs/ siggys are the same dimensions so they shouldnt need any adjustment rings. I'd take them back and get them put on the balancer!
