A Polish forum suggests using the DAB inputs (+,-,GND) on the head unit and getting the CDC40 Tech2'd to say it has a DAB installed. The screen will read "DAB error" but supposedly still plays the audio from the cable.

I've not done it so I cannot confirm if it works or not...

There's a thread on here somewhere about it, I came across it when I was looking at aux in possibilities. A guy claimed he'd done it but never really came back to confirm. Robsey suggested a wiring diagram based on what they guy said, but I can't recall if anyone followed it through.

Having just connected a suitable 3-wire cable in this manner, I can confirm that it doesn't work. No sound, nada, zilch. Just shows 'DAB box error' on the display still.

I have recently noted that CDC40's upto early 2007 will have three pins labelled DAB L, DAB R and DAB -.
CDC40's from mid-2007 onward will label the same pins with Aux L, Aux R and Aux -.

Sounds like a firmware and componentry upgrade may do the trick for head-units with the pins labelled DAB etc,
Similar to how it does on the CD70.

Think the thread title is meant to be aux in not out

I have this weekend done this mod using the the DAB +R, DAB +L, and DAB GND cables.
It works great and i am very happy with it.
I used a 4 pole relay to switch between the aux and DAB unit and it works a treat.
I got the aux plugged into my bluetooth unit and now i can stream music wirelessly
I put a push button switch on my dash to switch the relay.

All the info for this i got from this thread, it was very usfull so thanks for the info.
