Default 1.9 cdti shudder and flashing service indicator, (misfire?)

    Hi all

    06 1.9 cdti 150 98k

Driving car home yesterday from a long journey 100 miles plus all was well, last leg of journey I noticed a hesitation upon cruising, hmmm what was that so with spidy senses tingling kept an eye out and it was to continue on acceleration and cruising.

The car judders and wont accelerate, whilst this is momentarily happening the service indicator comes on then it goes back to normal and light goes off, it would go 1/2 a mile and no judder then in the space of 100 meters a really shuddery phase with service indicator flashing away for different lengths of time.

I thought it was EGR valve as have had almost identical symptoms before except when it was EGR the service indicator light would not flash and there was lots of smoke (no smoke this time)

Took EGR off and cleaned went for drive and still problem, I am worried its something to do with the swirl flaps, but my bar has been off for at least 70k and no probs.

    Thanks for your help,

    James.

Have you checked injector number three connector, this is very common, I had this problem before I could read the codes and found it because my problem was very erratic tick over as well. I found that wiggling the connector would cure the tick over, there is a “How to” on this forum shows you how to do the mode which is change the connector. Don't know why it is always injector three.
