    Default Cars been keyed!!

Hi all, just washed the car today (not the vectra, my run around astra) and discovered that some c##t has keyed both sides of it. Whats the best way of gettin rid of some of the scratches? Its not down to the metal, but it is through to the base coat. If thats what its called. Its an R' reg but its in really good nick. Its not worth it getting a bodyshop to do it. Is that scratch-x any good?
    Look forward to your replies.
    Thanks

I live in an area where my car is on the street an through the last 20 years have suffered this on a number of occassions. I usually brush paint the scratch, leaving it a bit proud, wait a week or so then T Cut down. It's by no means perfect but is cheap and for me, if it were on an older car, would be acceptable. Depends on personnal opinion though.

2 of our 3 cars have all been keyed, the blue/greeny colour astra doesnt look too bad apart from the fact that the clear coat has come off arround the scratches

the black corsa they went through the paint to the white coat underneith, the body shop wants £400+ to sort out about 6 differnt scratches on 3 different pannels both sides the b******s had fun that night 1 of them was 2 weeks after getting the car new. I thought about x scratch but as they had gone through the colour coat it was a waste of time. I have bought a touch up kit from halfords £10ish and I had a play the other night on the wing and it doesnt look too bad, I think I need to do another coat and it will be fine.

i bought the scratch-x a couple of days ago, so i'll give that a try soon. If that doesnt work then i'll get a touch up stick from vx and try that route.
I'll keep you informed how its going.
