    Default Rear rattle finally sorted

Well after 2 months of trying and failing to stop the rear pads from rattling in the callipers, I finally nailed it this morning.

It started when I put new pads in. Cheapies from Euro Car Parts. They were changed by ECP for another set and the rattle stayed there. Then, I removed the pads, cleaned everything up, used copperslip on re-assembly. The rattle disappeared for a cool 2 days.

    ----

This morning, new discs from Euro car parts (£29 for the pair with a discount code), and a new set of pads from Vauxhall (£17 with Trade Club ), 2 hours cleaning and fitting, including some swearing trying to get the calliper carrier bolts out, the rattle has gone

The cause of it was the cheapie brake pads from ECP. The vx ones have little springs on the back of the inboard pad to stop them rattling in the calliper.

Lesson learnt. Don't buy £8.99 pads from Euro Car Parts. Spend an extra £9 for the proper ones

Sign up to be a full member on here. The £15 membership fee is almost paid for with the discount you get on the rear pads alone

    Didn't know that

Pagid ones are £29.40 from ECP. Genuine VX ones are £32 without TC discount.

Maybe worth sticking to VX ones? I know I will be in the future
