Default Hasn't worked straight out of the box, should i be concerned?

Finally took the plunge and ordered the bluefin unit. Plugged it into the car this morning and it successfully stored the existing map but then the unit advised me to install the disc and upload the map to super chips.....the instructions in the box say this needs doing from time to time but i'm just a little concerned.

Anyone else with a 2.8T had the same issue?

The box the unit came in has my model on the outside so i know its the right one and the map uploaded successfully.

Oh and the car started after i unplugged the bluefin most importantly! ;-)

I have the 2.8T signum super chips map ..not the Bluefin tho .

I guess they just need the information from your car to make sure the map is absolutely correct .

Deztroyer has the blue fin on his signum

Beaten to it ..what Chris said lol .

Cheers guys. Not sure why but i had assumed it was all in the box so to speak and no interaction required than to plug it in, flash the ECU and start driving.
in the meantime I've had a message from superchips to say i can DL the new map so have done that and just need to wait till i finish work to go and have some fun!
Only took them 3 hours to reply as well which is pretty good i think!
