    Default thermostat change

Hi I have just changed the thermostat + housing on the vec genuine vauxhall parts, done everything as on the how2 but whilst idling the air is at best warm but whilst driving is lovely and hot. I have had the cap of for around 45 min with heater on and still no different.

I got told the 1.8 does not have a bleed screw. I will go outside and check.

Are you sure that the engine is fully up to temperature when it was ticking over - mine has been acting a bit strange with these colder outside temperatures (-5) ie taking a lot longer to warm up and no reading on the gauge for a long time after starting but warm air in the car. You could also consider that the new thermostat is faulty - it has been known.
