    Default Faulty wiper arms

I'm looking for some advice please. I stupidly put on the windscreen wipers while there was snow on the windows. The wipers went so far then stopped due to weight of the snow about a quarter of the way through a full sweep. When I press to wipe, the blades go down, then do a full sweep before resting in the original quarter way up position.

Any help would be appreciated. Getting different answers from different garages. Motor burnt out, damaged linkage, faulty relay. Pentagon vauxhall say it doesn't have a relay.

    Thanks!!

    Default

If the wiper is still doing a full wipe, but is just starting / resting in the wrong position then it will just need reset, i.e. disconnected, wipers returned to it's original position and re-connected.
Pop the bonnet and listen to it in action also, if the motor is going you can usually hear is starting to struggle. Another way of testing is (carefully) try and stop the wiper in motion. It should resist, but if it is easy to stop, that that may also indicate that your motor isn't up to scratch.
